An organization wanting to establish a more
entrepreneurial firm must implement a procedure for its creation.
Identify and briefly explain the first three steps of the
process.?

Answers

Answer 1

When an organization aims to establish a more entrepreneurial firm, it can follow a systematic procedure to guide its transformation. Here are the first three steps of the process:

Assess the Current State:

The first step involves assessing the current state of the organization to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. This assessment should evaluate the existing organizational culture, structure, processes, and systems. It helps to determine the readiness for change and provides insights into the specific areas that need attention to foster an entrepreneurial environment.

Define the Vision and Objectives:

In this step, the organization needs to define a clear vision and set objectives for creating a more entrepreneurial firm. The vision should articulate the desired future state of the organization, emphasizing characteristics such as innovation, risk-taking, adaptability, and a proactive mindset. The objectives should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART), providing a roadmap for the transformation process.

Establish Leadership Support and Commitment:

Leadership support and commitment are crucial for the successful implementation of any organizational change. In this step, the organization needs to secure buy-in from top management and key leaders to drive the entrepreneurial transformation. Leaders should understand the benefits of an entrepreneurial culture and actively champion the change. Their commitment can be demonstrated through clear communication, resource allocation, and creating a supportive environment for entrepreneurial initiatives.

These initial steps set the foundation for the organization's journey toward becoming more entrepreneurial. The subsequent steps may include creating a supportive infrastructure, fostering an innovation ecosystem, empowering employees, implementing entrepreneurial practices, and continuously monitoring and adapting the organization's progress.

Risks can be identified, quantified, prioritized, and assigned to people to monitor for and respond to, but in the end, there are only a handful of risk mitigation strategies that can be employed. Avoidance, Acceptance, Reduction or Control, and Transference are your basic approaches to how you and the organization react to risk events that come to pass.

Instructions

Using the CCCOnline Library, or any other credible sources you may locate on the World Wide Web, address the following topics in your main post:

Describe the features of each type of risk mitigation strategy mentioned above.
Illustrate your descriptions with an example that demonstrates the use of the features you've described.
Transferring risk to the other party usually involves extra cost. How can you determine if the extra costs are worth it?

Answers

Avoidance involves eliminating or avoiding the risk completely by modifying or refusing the task.

This could involve not travelling to a high-risk area or rejecting a potential contract or investment. Acceptance implies acknowledging that the risk is not significant enough to alter the planned activities and therefore ignoring the risk if possible. Reduction and control implies mitigating the risk by adding extra safety features or procedures. For example, wear a helmet when riding a bike or using shut-off valves when handling hazardous chemicals.

Transference involves transferring the risk to a third party, typically through an insurance plan so that the third party absorbs the cost of any damage. To decide if it’s worth it to transfer the risk, you must decide if the cost of the insurance is within your budget and if the risk is high enough that transferring the risk is needed.

Is consumer behaviour towards footwear predisposing for lower extremity injuries in runners and walkers? A prospective study. Background: Runners and walkers often suffer from lower extremity injuries. Little is known about the relationship between their consumer behaviour towards footwear and the development of those injuries. Therefore, the goal of this study was to investigate if consumer behaviour towards footwear is a risk factor for lower extremity injuries. Methods: A prospective cohort study was set-up in leisure-time walkers and runners. Potential risk factors in consumer behaviour were obtained by means of a baseline questionnaire related to the acquisition of current walking or running shoes. Information on injuries sustained during a 24-week period after the baseline questionnaire was obtained in 104 runners and 104 walkers using a 2-weekly questionnaire. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to identify risk factors for lower extremity injuries in the consumer behaviour. Results: Forty-nine (24\%) subjects suffered a self-reported lower extremity injury. 35 injuries occurred in runners and 14 among walkers. Undergoing a gait analysis before buying shoes was associated with an increased occurrence of lower extremity injuries (odds ratio (OR) 4.76). A protective factor was caring a lot about the right fitting of the shoes (OR 0.11). Conclusions: Runners and walkers should pay attention to the correct size when buying footwear to diminish the risk of lower extremity injury. Buying footwear after a gait analysis increased the risk of a lower extremity injury in runners and walkers, however, this might be associated with the increased risk that was already present because of previous injury. Trial registration: This trial was not registered since this was an observational study and no intervention took place. Reference: Willems TM, De Ridder R and Roosen P (2019) 'Is consumer behaviour towards footwear predisposing for lower extremity injuries in runners and walkers? CEO pay has been heavily criticized in North America. Discuss
both reasons for and reasons against high executive pay.
References and option should be based on Canada case study

Answers

The debate over CEO pay in North America, including Canada, involves considerations of talent acquisition, performance incentives, income inequality, accountability, and company culture. Striking a balance is crucial to address these concerns effectively.

In Canada, as well as in other parts of North America, CEO pay has faced significant criticism. There are valid reasons both for and against high executive pay.

Reasons for high executive pay - Talent acquisition and retention: Companies argue that high compensation is necessary to attract and retain top executive talent in a competitive market. They believe that a strong leadership team is essential for the company's success.

Performance-based incentives: Executives often receive a significant portion of their pay in the form of performance-based bonuses and stock options. Advocates argue that these incentives align the interests of executives with shareholders, encouraging them to drive company performance and increase shareholder value.

Reasons against high executive pay - Income inequality: Critics argue that excessively high CEO pay exacerbates income inequality. They believe that the gap between executive compensation and average worker wages has widened significantly, leading to social and economic disparities.

Lack of accountability: Detractors claim that excessive executive pay can lead to a lack of accountability. Some CEOs have received substantial payouts even when their companies underperform or engage in unethical practices, raising concerns about the fairness and effectiveness of current pay structures.

Impact on company culture: Excessive executive pay can negatively impact company culture, causing employee morale issues and undermining teamwork. When employees perceive a large pay disparity, it can lead to decreased motivation and productivity.

the couple m acts in a vertical plane and is applied to a beam

Answers

The couple m acts in a vertical plane and is applied to a beam. A couple is defined as a system of two equal and opposite parallel forces separated by a distance known as the arm.

A couple doesn't lead to the translation of a rigid body; instead, it only causes rotational motion about a point. The couple "m" is acting on a beam and is applied in a vertical plane. As it is applied in a vertical plane, it would create the rotational motion of the beam in that plane.

The vertical plane indicates that the forces forming the couple act in a vertical direction, either upward or downward, perpendicular to the plane of the beam. Therefore, the couple would create a moment and would rotate the beam, but it wouldn't lead to the translation of the beam.

I can explain the requirements for a probability distribution, which will help in identifying whether the given information satisfies those requirements:

Every probability must be between 0 and 1, inclusive: This requirement ensures that the probabilities assigned to each possible outcome are within the valid range.

The sum of all the probabilities must equal 1: This requirement ensures that the total probability of all possible outcomes is complete and accounts for the entire sample space.

The random variable's number values must be associated with probabilities: This requirement states that each value of the random variable must have a corresponding probability assigned to it.

The random variable should be numerical, not categorical: A probability distribution deals with numerical random variables, where each value represents a measurable quantity or count.

Without the actual table or values, we cannot determine if these requirements are satisfied or if the table shows a probability distribution. Therefore, we cannot calculate the mean or standard deviation of the random variable x.

Use the method of your choice to determine the probability below. Randomly meeting either a woman or a Republican in a group composed of 20 Democratic men, 60 Republican men, 60 Democratic women, and 20 Republican women. The probability is (Type an integer or a simplified fraction.)

Answers

The probability of randomly meeting a woman or a Republican in a group composed of 20 Democratic men, 60 Republican men, 60 Democratic women, and 20 Republican women is 80/200, which simplifies to 2/5, or 40%.

This can be calculated both mathematically and by using the law of relative frequencies. To calculate it mathematically, the probability of meeting a woman is 140/200 and the probability of meeting a Republican is 80/200. Since the event of meeting a woman or a Republican is a disjoint event (either one or the other, not both), the probability is calculated by adding 140/200 and 80/200, which simplifies to 2/5.

To calculate the probability using the law of relative frequencies, you add the number of women and Republicans together (140 + 80 = 220) and divide that number by the total number of people in the group (200). This calculation also results in 2/5.

which factor is not a good predictor of acting violently?

Answers

One of the factors that is not a good predictor of acting violently is the age of the person.

It is commonly thought that younger people are more prone to violence, but research has shown that age is not a significant factor in predicting violent behavior.

There is no single factor that can accurately predict violent behavior. However, research has shown that a combination of factors can increase the likelihood of someone acting violently. These factors can include past history of violent behavior, access to weapons, substance abuse, mental illness, and exposure to violence in the media or in real life situations. It is important to note that having one or more of these risk factors does not necessarily mean that someone will act violently.

The presence of these factors simply increases the likelihood of violent behavior occurring. The most effective way to prevent violence is through early intervention and prevention efforts. This can include education on healthy relationships and conflict resolution skills, screening and treatment for mental health and substance abuse issues, and implementing policies to limit access to weapons. Short-answer 4.Consider different government policies a Suppose the Congress and the President wanted to raise output. Explain how they could do so. b Now suppose the Federal Reserve wanted to raise output. How could it do so? c If you see that output is increasing and know that it is because of some government policy, how could you tell if it is due to fiscal policy (Congress and the President or monetary policy(the Federal Reserve)?

Answers

Fiscal policy actions such as increased government spending or tax cuts, and monetary policy measures like lower interest rates, can both boost output and aggregate demand. Distinguishing between them requires examining specific policy actions.

a) Congress and the President can raise the output by taking fiscal policy actions such as increasing government spending or cutting taxes. This would lead to an increase in disposable income and a rise in aggregate demand. In response to this increase in demand, firms will increase output to match the demand.

b) The Federal Reserve can increase output by implementing monetary policy measures such as reducing interest rates. Lower interest rates will result in increased investment, consumption, and aggregate demand, which will lead to higher output.

c) One way to tell if the increase in output is due to fiscal or monetary policy is to examine the specific actions taken by the government or the Federal Reserve. If the increase in output is due to an increase in government spending or a cut in taxes, then it is due to fiscal policy.

Conversely, if the increase in output is due to a reduction in interest rates or an increase in the money supply, then it is due to monetary policy.
