Find the weight of the same object on a planet where gravitational attraction has beduced to 1/10 of the earths pull

Answers

Answer 1

The weight of the same object on a planet where gravitational attraction is mg /10.

Force = mg

On Earth weight = force = mg where g = acceleration of gravity

But according to your question

On a planet with gravity 1/10 of the earth is

Weight = force = mg /10.

On the Moon, gravity pulls less on objects so they weigh less. For example, a rock that weighs 1 pound weighs less on Earth than it does on the Moon. Weight is the result of the law of universal gravitation. Any two objects are attracted to each other by their masses with a force directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

The mass remains the same and the weight decreases on the moon. When flying to the moon the gravitational acceleration is less than the gravitational acceleration. That's about one-sixth of the acceleration due to gravity. If gravity is halved, atmospheric pressure is halved. This equates to climbing above 5,000 meters. This means that all humans will struggle to breathe enough oxygen, more than they can live on forever.

An unsupervised child has snuck away from a guided tour on a family vacation to
Mars. They decide it would be fun to throw something from a small cliff, since it will
travel pretty far, given that the acceleration due to gravity on Mars is only 3.7 m/s2.
So, they throw a stone with a speed of 8.2 m/s, at an angle of 60 degrees above the
horizontal. The cliff has a height of 12 meters, and the child releases the thrown stone
at a height of 1.1 meters above the top of the cliff.

How much time passes between when the stone is thrown and when it hits the ground?

What is the horizontal displacement of the stone (between where it thrown and where
it hits the ground)?

What is the speed of the stone when it hits the ground?

Answers

The Time taken by the stone to reach tot he ground is 2.10 seconds, the horizontal displacement of the stone is 1.95 meters, and the speed of the stone when it reaches the ground is 9.5m/s.

The height H of the cliff from which the child has thrown the stone is 12m.

The value of acceleration due to gravity on mars is 3.7m/s².

The angle at which the stone is throw is 60°.

The initial speed of the stone is 8.2m/s.

The kid releases the stone from the height 1.1m above the height of the cliff.

So, the total vertical displacement of the stone is 13.1 meters.

The time of flight T of the stone can be found by using this equation of motion,

T = 2Usinα/a

Where,

U is the initial velocity,

α is the angle at which the stone is thrown,

a is the acceleration.

Putting the values,

T = √[2(√3)8.2/(3.2)(2)]

T = 2.10 seconds.

Total time of flight is 2.10 seconds.

As there is no acceleration in horizontal direction, so, horizontal direction, and the velocity in horizontal direction is Ucos60°,

So, horizontal displacement R is ,

R = Ucos60°/T

U is the initial velocity,

putting the values,

R = 8.2/4.2

R = 1.95 meters.

Horizontal displacement is 1.95 meters.

The speed S when it hits the ground is,

S = √(2aH)

Where,

a is acceleration,

H is the horizontal displacement,

S = √(2x3.2x13.1)

S = 9.15 m/s.

The speed of the stone on touching the ground is 9.1m/s.

What is a pi bond?

The term pi bond has to do with a multiple bond. In chemistry, there are basically two kinds of bonds which are the pi bond and the sigma bonds. The sigma bonds are the single bonds.

Actually, the sigma bond is stronger than the pi bond and the pi bond can be broken easily especially when  the compound has been irradiated with a strong light of the appropriate wavelength. The energy that is required to break a pi bond is 4.42*10^-19 J. When this energy is supplied, the pi bond can be broken hence the wavelength that correspond to it is what we seek.

What are equations of motion?

The equations of motion are equations that are used to describe the motion of an object as a function of time. These equations apply to an object moving linearly in a straight line with uniform acceleration.

The three equations of motion are represented as:

[tex]v = u+at[/tex]

[tex]S= ut +\frac{1}{2} at^2[/tex]

[tex]v^2= u^2+2aS[/tex]

The initial velocity of the rock, u = 0

The acceleration of the rock, a= g = 9.8m/s²

The height that rock travel, S = 60m

From the equation of motion calculate the final velocity of the rock:

v² = (0)² + 2 ×9.8×60

v² = 1176

v = 34.29 m/s

From the equation of motion, calculate the time takes the rock to reach the bottom:

Thermal systems often require services such as fuel supply, flue stack, water intake and exit, air intake and exit, and electrical supply (for power or at least for control).
