Find the area under the normal curve up to z=0.36; that is, find P(Z≤0.36) give your answer as a probabilay rounded to two decimal places, so in the format 0.XX.

Answers

The area under the normal curve up to z = 0.36 is P(Z ≤ 0.36) and is equal to 0.64. To find the value of P(Z ≤ 0.36), the standard normal distribution table is used. We can find the value by looking up the closest z-value on the standard normal distribution table.

The value of 0.36 is not exactly found in the table, however, the closest value to it is 0.35. Using the standard normal distribution table, the area to the left of z = 0.35 is 0.6368. Since we need to find P(Z ≤ 0.36), this area needs to be added to the area from 0.36 to 0.35, which is 0.0032. Adding the two values will give us the answer: 0.6368 + 0.0032 = 0.64.Therefore, the area under the normal curve up to z = 0.36 is P(Z ≤ 0.36) and is equal to 0.64. In order to find the area under the normal curve up to z = 0.36, we need to find the value of P(Z ≤ 0.36), which is the probability of a standard normal variable taking a value less than or equal to 0.36. To find this probability, we use the standard normal distribution table, which provides the area to the left of a given z-value.The standard normal distribution table is usually presented in the form of a table that gives the area to the left of a given z-value. For example, if we want to find the area to the left of z = 1.96, we look up the value 1.9 in the first column and the value 0.06 in the second column. We then add these two values to get the area to the left of z = 1.96, which is 0.9750. Similarly, we can find the area to the left of any other z-value by using the standard normal distribution table. To find the area under the normal curve up to z = 0.36, we first need to find the closest value to 0.36 in the standard normal distribution table. In this case, the closest value is 0.35. We then look up the area to the left of z = 0.35 in the standard normal distribution table, which is 0.6368. Since we need to find the area to the left of z = 0.36, we need to add the area from 0.35 to 0.36, which is 0.0032. Adding these two values gives us the area under the normal curve up to z = 0.36, which is 0.6368 + 0.0032 = 0.64.

The area under the normal curve up to z = 0.36 is P(Z ≤ 0.36) and is equal to 0.64. This means that the probability of a standard normal variable taking a value less than or equal to 0.36 is 0.64. To find this probability, we used the standard normal distribution table, which provides the area to the left of a given z-value. We found the area to the left of z = 0.35, which is the closest value to 0.36 in the standard normal distribution table. We then added the area from 0.35 to 0.36 to get the area under the normal curve up to z = 0.36, which is 0.64.

To determine the percentage of Sara's students who answered at least half of the quiz questions incorrectly, we need more information than the relative cumulative frequency of students who earned a score of 21 or higher.

The cumulative frequency only tells us the percentage of students who scored 21 or higher, but not the percentage who answered at least half of the questions incorrectly. To calculate the percentage of students who answered at least half of the quiz questions incorrectly, we would need additional data such as the scores or the number of questions on the quiz. Without that information, it is not possible to determine the exact percentage. If we had the scores or the number of questions, we could calculate the percentage by subtracting the cumulative frequency from 100%. 9m^2-4n+12 factor out gcf

Answers

Answer: 9m^2 - 4n + 12

Step-by-step explanation:

To factor out the greatest common factor (GCF) from the expression 9m^2 - 4n + 12, we need to find the largest common factor of all the terms.

Let's examine each term individually:

9m^2: The only common factor between 9 and m^2 is 1.

-4n: The only common factor between -4 and n is 1.

12: The factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12. However, there is no common factor between 12 and the other terms.

Since there is no common factor other than 1, we cannot factor out anything more significant than 1. Therefore, the factored form of the expression 9m^2 - 4n + 12 is simply the original expression itself:

To factor out the greatest common factor (GCF) from the expression 9m^2 - 4n + 12, let's first identify the GCF of the coefficients. In this case, the GCF of 9, -4, and 12 is 1 since there is no common factor greater than 1.

Next, we'll factor out the GCF from each term:

9m^2 = (9)(m^2)

-4n = (-4)(n)

12 = (12)(1)

Now we can rewrite the expression factoring out the GCF:

9m^2 - 4n + 12 = (1)(9m^2) + (1)(-4n) + (1)(12)

Simplifying this, we get:

9m^2 - 4n + 12 = 9m^2 - 4n + 12

Since there is no common factor other than 1, the expression cannot be further factored.

What do we mean by greater and less than?To compare numbers and expressions, use the greater than and less than symbols. The sign for more than is >. In other words, 9>7 means "9 is bigger than 7." The symbol for less than is. The comparative terms "greater than" and "equal to" are two more (less than or equal to). Imagine the larger than and less than signs as little alligators (or crocodiles), with the numbers on either side standing in for a number of fish, to help you remember them. Whatever number the alligator's mouth is open toward is the larger number because it always prefers to devour more fish.

So, to know that if 1⅝ > 1.6, calculate as follows:

You plan to invest $10,000 in two funds paying 4.5% and 5% simple interest. (There is more risk in the 5% fund.) Your goal is to obtain a total annual interest income of $480 from the investments. What is the smallest amount you can invest in the 5% fund and still meet your objective?

Answers

Answer:

$6000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following :

Total planned amount to invest = 10,000 in two funds:

Fund A at rates 4.5% and

Fund B at 5% simple interest

Total Annual Interest should be = 480

What is the smallest amount you can invest in the 5% fund and still meet your objective?

Let ;

Investment in fund A = principal = a at 4.5%(0.045)

Investment in fund B = principal = (10000 - a) at 5%(0.05)

Simple interest = principal * rate * time

a + (10000 - a) = 10000

(a * 0.045) + (10000 - a) * 0.05 = 480

0.045a + 500 - 0.05a = 480

-0.005a = 480 - 500

-0.005a = - 20

a = 20 / 0.005

a = 4000

4000 at 4.5%

Investment in fund B = principal = (10000 - a)

(10,000 - 4000) = 6000

Nogan Airport has three runways. The airport dedicates two runways to serve departing flights and one
runway to serve arriving flights. If used for departure, a runway can serve 10 flights per hour; if used for
arrival, a runway can serve 15 flights per hour. The time it takes for a plane to use a runway (either to
depart or to land) is exponentially distributed.
The flight schedule in the morning is as follows. The time between two consecutive departing flights is
exactly 5 minutes. The time between two consecutive arriving requests is exponentially distributed,
with an average of 10 minutes. When an arriving flight approaches the airport, it radios the control
tower and requests permission to land. The air traffic controller responds instantly by assigning the
plane a position in queue on a first-come-first-serve basis.
(a) On average, how much time elapses between a plane’s radioing of the control tower and its eventual
completion of the entire arriving process in the morning? (1 point)

Answers

On average, it takes approximately 14 minutes for a plane to complete the entire arriving process, from radioing the control tower to landing on the runway, in the morning at Nogan Airport.

To determine the average time that elapses between a plane radioing the control tower and its completion of the entire arriving process in the morning, we need to consider the different steps involved in the process.

Radioing the control tower: The time between two consecutive arriving requests follows an exponential distribution with an average of 10 minutes. Hence, on average, it takes 10 minutes for a plane to radio the control tower after the previous plane.

Assigning position in queue: The air traffic controller assigns the plane a position in the queue on a first-come-first-serve basis, implying that there is no additional delay for this step.

Landing on the runway: Once the plane reaches the front of the queue, it lands on the runway. The time it takes for a plane to use a runway, either for landing or departing, follows an exponentially distributed process.

Since the runway dedicated to arrival can serve 15 flights per hour, the average time it takes for a plane to complete the landing process is 1/15 hour, or 4 minutes.

Considering these steps, the average time that elapses between a plane radioing the control tower and completing the entire arriving process in the morning can be calculated as follows:

Average time = Time to radio the control tower + Time to land on the runway

= 10 minutes + 4 minutes

= 14 minutes

PS Of the 22 fast-food businesses in a small city, the numbers that have a drive-up window, outside seating, or delivery Page 58 service are summarized as follows: 7 have delivery service: IS have outside seating: 13 have a driveup window, 9 have a drive- up window and outside seating; 3 have outside seating and delivery service: 3 have delivery service and a drive-up window; and 2 have all three services. How many of these businesses have only a drive-up window?

Answers

There are 4 fast-food businesses in this small city that have only a drive-up window.

To determine the number of fast-food businesses that have only a drive-up window, we need to subtract the businesses that have a drive-up window and other services from the total number of businesses with a drive-up window.

According to the given information:

Total number of fast-food businesses = 22

Number of businesses with delivery service (D) = 7

Number of businesses with outside seating (O) = 13

Number of businesses with a drive-up window (W) = 13

Number of businesses with both a drive-up window and outside seating (W ∩ O) = 9

Number of businesses with both outside seating and delivery service (O ∩ D) = 3

Number of businesses with both delivery service and a drive-up window (D ∩ W) = 3

Number of businesses with all three services (D ∩ O ∩ W) = 2

To find the number of businesses with only a drive-up window:

Number of businesses with only a drive-up window = Number of businesses with a drive-up window (W) - Number of businesses with both outside seating and a drive-up window (W ∩ O)

Number of businesses with only a drive-up window = 13 - 9 = 4

Therefore, there are 4 fast-food businesses in this small city that have only a drive-up window.

You are the financial vice-president of Consumer Durables Focus, Inc., a large manufacturer of consumer durables that is considering expanding into two developing countries. Country A and Country B split off from the former Soviet Union and may provide opportunities for both manufacturing and sales for your company. While the two countries have similar backgrounds and current GD Ps, they differ substantially in economic policies. Because of limited resources, your company can only expand into one country. You would like to invest in a country that will be growing rapidly so that the citizens will be able to afford to buy your products. Yourjob is to assess the prospects for investing in the two countries. In making your decisions, you have met with the Minister of Commerce for Country A, Mr. Vasiliev, and the Minister for Development for Country B, Mr. Alexeev. Your company has also sent a number of representatives to the two countries to gather data to help you make your decision. Country A Country A is run by a generally peaceful one-party government. The government budget has been balanced, with taxes and tariffs at a level typical for a developing country. Government spending has focused on education with the goal of universal primary education. The legal system is well developed and has been effective in supporting property rights (although less effective for political rights). Corruption is low. Country B Country B has had a democratic and populist tradition. This has resulted in the people enjoying substantial civil rights after independence, including free speech and popular elections. However, the government has an inefficient civil service and a mixed record of enforcing property rights. Investment in education and physical capital is low even though public spending and the federal decit are high. Unlike Country B, Country A is more restrictive in terms of civil rights and democracy. There are no prospects for elections in the near future and a number of opposition leaders have been jailed. All television and radio are run by the government. Newspapers have a close relationship with the government and generally follow a pro-government line. n__..:.._._l.
