How is this question for New Mexico History contreversal? Which group has been most successful at building political power since statehood: Women, Native Americans, Chicanos or African Americans?

Answers

Answer:

I guess this is Just my opinionated answer but its all I could think of- the reason that the question is controversial is all of the subjects within the question are still to this day considered below the average white man. and each and every one of those subjects have fought to get to the amount of power they have today almost equally, and 10x harder than the average white man. ill explain:

Explanation:

women: woman got the right to vote in 1920- this is the 19th amendment to the U.S constitution- it took 19 amendments for a woman in this country to have a voice. before that- woman could barely breathe in public without being burned at the stake (AHEM: salem witch trials) and women still to this day arent taken seriously- we just got our 1st female vice president Kamala Harris- and the bitter (primarily white men) make it a point to say that women should not be in a position of power- and if they are THEY DEFINITELY SLEPT WITH THEIR BOSS. but let a woman attack a mans ego and he dams all women

Natives: well lets just start with the fact that THE COLONIZERS stole the land that was originally owned by natives- they were kinda there first . and then the FACT that the British turned around and KILLED every native they came in contact with. and then the natives had to deal with IMPERIALISM which was basically forcing the white mans ways on any other race, culture, religeon, or ethnicity- because the white man concidered it uncivilized to be different.

chicanos: mexican american war: mexico used to own California, new Mexico, arizona, and texas but one of the previous presidents sold them to the US to avoid a boarder war. - well guess what that didnt stop very much. because yes 1,000s of immigrants are legally (and illegally) crossing the boarder into a new life- but racism is everywhere and latin American people were even forced to pick grapes at 1 point.

african American: SLAVERY, the civil rights movement, police brutality, these are just some of the things they had to face- and still have to today. and they continue to fight for the rights that others are just born with.

so the progress, the success- in general- id say is about the same- speaking about how hard the history (and present day) was and is for all of these subjects. that in its self is how i believe that the question is controversial

⚠️UGENT PLSSSS HELP ASAP 3 POINTS⚠️An international company has 15,300 employees in one country. If this represents 23.9% of the company's employees, how many employees does it have in total? Round your answer to the nearest whole number.

Answers

Answer:

The company has 150794 employees

Explanation:

Assume that the total number of employees is x

We are given at 18.9% of the total number of employees is 28,500

Therefore:

18.9% of x = 28,500

0.189x = 28,500

x =  = 150793.6

Since we cannot have a fraction of an employee, therefore, we MUST round the answer.

Here, we would round up.

Therefore, the total number of employees is 150794 employees

A list of the strengths of the new government under the Articles of Confederation
A list of the weaknesses of the new government under the Articles of Confederation
Examples of how people have reacted to the new government

Answers

Answer:

Shays' Rebellion was led by Daniel Shay and Job Shattuck to overthrow the government, which was still going along with the Articles of Confederation, it happened a bit later than the date you said though.

The Articles of Confederation gave the states more power over the government, which could be considered both a pro and con, as it made the government weaker. But don't blame them too hard, they had just broke free from King George III for the exact reason of overpowered government, or monarchy.

Under the Articles, Congress had the power to establish laws, declare wars, and had control of the postal service. However, they were unable to enforce laws, also able to make peace, etc.

Both businessmen and farmers alike were upset with the system the new government had, so there's that.

It's probably best that they changed the government's ways to give themselves more power because you can't really trust every state to make the right decision. With a stronger government, there are also stronger laws.

According to her letter, what did Elinore Rupert Stewart finally prove?
How would you describe her attitude toward being a homesteader?

Do you think Stewart's letter creates a fair portrait of what life was like for women homesteaders? Why or why not?

Chapter 5 Section 2 Letter from a Woman Homesteader
I repost this because I forgot to attach the thing
But I need help with this :(

Answers

I looked this up trying to find the answers for my homework tonight because I’m lazy haha but I couldn’t find them so I just did it.

1. According to her letter, Elinore Rupert Stewart proved that a woman could ranch if she wanted to.

2. Elinore’s attitude towards being a homesteader was positive. She said she loved to experiment, work, prove out things, and the ranch life suited her.

3. I think Stewart’s letter creates a fair portrait of what life was like for women because women worked alongside men and she talked about how much work there is and responsibilities she had.

Textbook evidence: (page 423 chapter 13 section 2) in “Women’s Work”

According to her letter, Elinore set out to prove that life as an independent women homesteader was possible, she showed a very proud and determined attitude. However, I do not believe this letter creates a fair portrait of life as a homesteader for women.

From the letter that Elinore Rupert Stewart writes, we can infer that society has a very poor idea of the capabilities of women ranchers. She states multiple times that she was told she would not be able to handle the burdens and responsibilities of being a homesteader, and begins the letter implying that many women fear even trying to start a homestead. Throughout the letter, Elinore writes in a very proud and determined attitude. She would only accept the minimal help and constantly writes about proving wrong those who doubted her capabilities.

Despite the successful and hands-on nature of Elinore's time as a homesteader described in the letter, I do not believe this is a fair portrait of what life was like for women homesteaders. The role of women in these areas at the time was that of a farmer's wife. The responsibilities of this role mostly included;

Caring for the childrenCollecting eggsMaking clothesCookingBasic gardeningLaundry.

This is in contrast to Elinore's letter in which she describes her life as a women homesteader as one in which her responsibilities were geared more towards agriculture and livestock in a more hands-on approach to ranching. This contrast was the reason many told Elinore she would not be able to succeed.

Elinore writes in a very proud and determined attitude, backed by her many accomplishments in proving the worth of a woman as a homesteader. Despite her success, however, the letter does not create a fair portrait of life as a women homesteader but rather is an exception to what a women's role was commonly expected to be on the farm.

Answer:

“Philip II of Macedonia, author of Greece’s first federal constitution, founder of the first territorial state with a centralized administrative structure in Europe, forger of the first Western national army, the first great general of the Greek imperial age, and a dreamer of great dreams; one of the  greatest captains in the history of the West.” (Richard A. Gabriel, “Great Captains of Antiquity (Contributions in Military Studies)”, 2000, p.84)

“That sense of being one people allowed each Greek state and its citizens to contribute their values, experiences, traditions, resources, and talents to a new national identity and psyche. It was not until Philip's reign that a common sentiment of what it meant to be a Hellene reached all Greeks. Alexander took this culture of Hellenism with him to Asia, but it was Philip, as leader of the Greeks, who created it and in doing so made the Hellenistic Age possible.” (Richard A. Explain one way in which the role of local communities in law enforcement in the medieval period was similar to the role of communities in law enforcement in the modern period

Answers

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

One way in which the role of local communities in law enforcement in the medieval period was similar to the role of communities in law enforcement in the modern period, was the following.

During the dark ages of the Medieval Times, the community was responsible for policing criminals. First, to prevent, later to fight criminals and demand justice. Let's have in mind that in those years, there was no concept of police or justice as we have it today.

When a crime was committed, the members of the medieval village gathered together, joined forces, and leave the villages to find and punish the criminal.

We can compare these actions with modern times in that today, people have to be aware and working together in neighborhoods in order to prevent crime. They have to be watchful and vigilant so they can be ready to help each other.
