Answers

Answer 1
Akkad was the northern division of ancient Babylonia. The name Akkad was taken from the city of Agade, which was founded by the Semitic conqueror Sargon in around 2300 BCE. Sargon united many city-states in this region and extended his rule to embody much of Mesopotamia. Akkad and Babylon are alike in many ways, followed by having differences as well. Some similarities are they are both ruled by Hammurabi based on military. This means they both fell into invaders. A difference the two have is, Sargon thought he was a god and Hammurabi didn’t. This means Akkad lasted longer. Akkad was the capital city of the Akkadian empire, however, Babylon was the most populous city in the world. After it’s fall, the southern part of their shared empire(Akkad and Sumer) because Babylonia and the northern part became Assyria.

Population and the diversification of cultures were the major differences between the societies of the Aztec, Inca, and Maya and the Native peoples of North America.

What is the significance of Native peoples?

The Native American peoples, who lived in the North American society, were a part of the minority ethnic group. As a result, their representation in the total population of the American society during such time was not as significant as the societies of the Aztec, Inca, and Maya.

what reasons could explain the number and the expansion of large cities?

Answers

The expansion of cities accompanied by an increase in the number is due to urbanization.

What is urbanization?

Urbanization (or urbanisation) refers to the population shift from rural to urban areas, the corresponding decrease in the proportion of people living in rural areas, and how societies adapt to this change.[1] It is predominantly the process by which towns and cities are formed and become larger as more people begin living and working in central areas.

Although the two concepts are sometimes used interchangeably, urbanization should be distinguished from urban growth. Urbanization refers to the proportion of the total national population living in areas classified as urban, whereas urban growth strictly refers to the absolute number of people living in those areas.

Urbanization is relevant to a range of disciplines, including urban planning, geography, sociology, architecture, economics, education, statistics and public health.

The phenomenon has been closely linked to modernization, industrialization, and the sociological process of rationalization.

Answer:

The Code of Hammurabi is a Babylonian legal text composed c. 1755–1750 BC. It is the longest, best-organised, and best-preserved legal text from the ancient Near East. It is written in the Old Babylonian dialect of Akkadian, purportedly by Hammurabi, sixth king of the First Dynasty of Babylon. The stele was discovered in 1901, at the site of Susa in present-day Iran, where it had been taken as plunder six hundred years after its creation. The text itself was copied and studied by Mesopotamian scribes for over a millennium. The stele now resides in the Louvre Museum.
