What is the difference between indentured servants and chattel slaves?

Answer 1

Indentured servants and chattel slaves are both kinds of unfree labor, yet they differ significantly. Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, indentured servitude was a widespread labor arrangement.

in the British colonies of North America. Individuals would agree to work for a specific amount of time, often four to seven years, in return for transportation to the colonies and the chance to establish a new life under this system. They were free to live and work as they pleased when their period of duty ended. Chattel slavery, on the other hand, was a labor system in which people were considered the property of their owners and could be bought and sold just like any other commodity.  Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, indentured servitude was a widespread labor arrangement.

Several factors contributed to the development of a totalitarian government in Spain. These included political instability, economic depression, and social unrest, as well as the legacy of Spain's colonial past and its involvement in World War I. This created an atmosphere of uncertainty and fear that made it easier for extremist groups to gain support. The primary leader who took power in Spain was General Francisco Franco, who led a military coup against the democratically elected government in 1936. Q. 4 A firm of manufactures, whose books are closed on 31st December purchased machinery for Rs. 50, 000 on 15 January, 2016. Additional Machinery was acquired for Rs. 10, 000 on 1st July, 2017 and for Rs. 16, 466 on 14th April, 2019. Certain machinery, which originally cost Rs. 10, 000 in 2016, was sold for Rs. 5, 000 on 30th June, 2020.

Give the Machinery Account for five years writing off depreciation at 10% by:

(i) Diminishing balance method

(ii) Straight line method

Answers

The cost of machinery for the firm at the end of the year is Rs. 71,466.

To determine the cost of machinery for the firm at the end of the year, we need to calculate the total cost of the machinery purchased and subtract any machinery that was sold.

Total cost of machinery purchased:

Machinery purchased on 15th January, 2016 = Rs. 50,000

Additional machinery purchased on 1st July, 2017 = Rs. 10,000

Additional machinery purchased on 14th April, 2019 = Rs. 16,466

Total cost of machinery purchased = Rs. 50,000 + Rs. 10,000 + Rs. 16,466 = Rs. 76,466

Cost of machinery sold:

Machinery sold on 30th June, 2020 = Rs. 10,000 (original cost) - Rs. 5,000 (sale price) = Rs. 5,000

To determine the cost of machinery at the end of the year, we subtract the cost of machinery sold from the total cost of machinery purchased:

Cost of machinery at the end of the year = Total cost of machinery purchased - Cost of machinery sold

= Rs. 76,466 - Rs. 5,000

= Rs. 71,466

Therefore, the cost of machinery for the firm at the end of the year is Rs. 71,466.

First of all, on the night of the Reichstag fire (27th Feb 1933), the Nazi's blamed Marinus Van Der Lubbe (a dutch communist arsonist) for the fire. This was convenient for Hitler as he was trying to turn everyone against the communists because it'd lead everyone towards him. Next, during the event of the Enabling Act (23rd march 1933), the Nazi's barricaded exits of the Kroll Opra House so that people couldn't leave and had to follow Hitler's ideals. Thanks to the Nazi's use of fear, violence, and intimidation, the Enabling Act was passed with 441 votes to 94. The Enabling Act was seen by many as the end of Democracy in germany, so the Nazi's played a very big part in Hitler's dictatorship over Germany. On the 2nd of May 1933, a policy called the Gleichstchtug was introduced in which Hitler/the Nazi's could interfere with German citizens' private lives, like posts, phone calls, etc. All trade unions were banned, and only one trade union was introduced, which was, of course, completely run and filled by Nazis (German Labour Front, or, the DAF- Deutsche Arbeitsfront)
