Antiochus was also responsible for the persecution of the Jews and the suppression of their religion, which ultimately led to a revolt. He will have a short reign over the whole planet, during which time he will be notorious for his absolute dominance and ruthlessness. On the other hand, Satan will be vanquished by the second coming of Jesus Christ, who will put an end to him with the words that come out of his mouth (2 Thessalonians 2:8). This defeat will signal the end of his dominion and the beginning of a new age in which Jesus will reign over the globe in peace and justice. It will herald the beginning of a new era in which Jesus will reign over the world.
