What were the three main causes for the French Revolution? Other than taxes. Thank you !

Answers

1. International: struggle for hegemony and Empire outstrips the fiscal resources of the state
2. Political conflict: conflict between the Monarchy and the nobility over the “reform” of the tax system led to paralysis and bankruptcy.
3. The Enlightenment: impulse for reform intensifies political conflicts; reinforces traditional aristocratic constitutionalism, one variant of which was laid out in Montequieu’s Spirit of the Laws; introduces new notions of good government, the most radical being popular sovereignty, as in Rousseau’s Social Contract [1762]; the attack on the regime and privileged class by the Literary Underground of “Grub Street;” the broadening influence of public opinion.
4. Social antagonisms between two rising groups: the aristocracy and the bourgeoisie
5. Ineffective ruler: Louis XVI
6. Economic hardship, especially the agrarian crisis of 1788-89 generates popular discontent and disorders caused by food shortages.

Not sure which are the three main but those are some.

Industrial Revolution:
What is one the steamboat's influence can still be seen today?

Answers

Answer:

Steamboats proved a popular method of commercial and passenger transportation along the Mississippi River and other inland U.S. rivers in the 19th century. Their relative speed and ability to travel against the current reduced the time and expense of shipping. Steamboats were also used to carry items like lumber. ... Though steamboats are still used today, they have been made ineffective by larger freight ships and bridges in this day and age. But steamboats are still used for crossing rivers and lakes, or taking commercial tours of Maine's rivers and lakes.  The steamboat profoundly affected the Industrial Revolution. Efficiently transporting goods and products would not have been possible without the steamboat. The steamboat's influence on the marketplace is apparent in modern society. Self-sufficiency decreased as steamboat transportation increased commercial trading capabilities. The advent of the steamboat increased dependency on manufactured goods, and personal financial well-being then became more dependent on market forces.

The French Navy is the  naval force kept General Cornwallis and his troops from escaping Yorktown. Hence, option C is correct.

What is French Navy?

The French Navy was a formidable force throughout the Napoleonic Era, and it remained to be a pain in their side throughout the Napoleonic and French Revolutionary Wars. It terrified the Royal Navy with its potential.

The Royal Navy has 32,450 regular, trained personnel, vs 35,000 for the French Navy including Royal Marines. Ships for combat and support: 73 British against 69 French nuclear-capable ballistic submarines.

Due to the British blockade, the French and Spanish were forced to remain in port, which limited their opportunities for significant exercise. The British ships spent months at sea, which allowed the captains to give their sailors continuous practice with the cannons, giving the Royal Navy this advantage.

Thus, option C is correct.
