Cardiac cycle is the term used to describe a complete heartbeat of a mammalian heart, which typically consists of sequential alternating contraction and relaxation of the atria and ventricles. This action results in oxygenated blood flowing unidirectionally (in one direction) throughout the human body.
There are typically two stages to the cardiac cycle;
The ventricles are relaxed and filled with oxygenated blood during diastole.
Systole: During this stage, the muscles contract, causing oxygenated blood to be forced into the atria.
When the atrium contracts, ventricular pressure, which is produced when the cardiac cycle occurs, is normally higher than atria pressure.
Here, in graph 3,
The systolic blood pressure is 140 mmHg.
This corresponds to the aortic pressure and also the peak pressure in the ventricle during the ejection phase.

A traffic accident occurred in a 35 km/hr speed limit zone on Millway Street in which a 3000-kg Cadillac Escalade SUV rear-ended a 2000-kg Subaru Outback Wagon that was stopped at a stop sign. Because the entire police investigative division has gone on vacation to Bora Bora to relax, the mayor has contracted my team of experts to determine what happened and what traffic laws were broken. Using the little bit of data we were supplied we were able to find out enough information to figure out if the driver of the 3000-kg Cadillac Escalade SUV was speeding.
Using our kinematics equations we used the formula Vf^2 = Vi^2 + 2ad to figure out the velocity of both the Wagon and the SUV. Using the skid marks we were able to determine the distance and we were given acceleration. On top of that we knew the final velocity had to be zero because the cars came to a complete stop. Using what we knew we solved for Vi and found that the SUV’s initial velocity was 2.8 m/s and the wagon’s initial velocity was 12 m/s. Since we found the velocity of both vehicles and the masses were given we were able to use the equation mv = p to calculate the momentum of both immediately following the collision. We found that the momentum of the SUV equaled a total of 8,400 kg*m/s and the wagon equaled 24,000 kg*m/s. Knowing that the momentum before the collision has to be equal to the momentum after the collision we were able to find the momentum of each vehicle immediately before the collision. We added up each cars momentum from after the collision and got a total of 32,400 kg*m/s but, because the wagon was sitting at a stop sign it had no momentum therefore the SUV had a momentum of 32,400 kg*m/s.
After finding the momentum of the cars before the collision we used the equation mv = p to calculate the speed/velocity before the cars collided. Using the given mass of 3000kg and the momentum of 32,400 kg*m/s we found the speed/velocity was 10.8 m/s for the SUV. The speed of the wagon had to be 0 because it was sitting still at the stop sign. Using what we know about conversions we were able to convert 10.8 m/s to km/hr finding out that the SUV was going 38.88 km/hr which was three km/hr over the speed limit. Therefore the SUV was indeed speeding.

Determine the rod’s moment of inertia in SI Units.
Determine the initial angular acceleration of the rod. Determine the initial linear acceleration in the middle of the rod in SI Units.
Find the magnitude of torque in SI Units.
Answer:
ρ = 1.8 kg / .90 m = 2 kg / m linear density
Γ = m g L/2 = I α torque producing acceleration α
α = m g L/2 / I = m g L/2 / 1/3 m L^2 = 3 g / (2 *L)
α = 3 / 2 * 9.80 * / .90 s^2 = 16.3 / s^2 angular acceleration
a = L/2 α = .90 m / 2 * 16.3 / s^2 = 7.3 m/s^2 acceleration of middle of rod
A 1.8 kg uniform rod (90 cm long) pivots freely. Linear density = 2 kg/m. Moment of inertia = 0.486 kg m². Initial angular acceleration = 16.35 rad/s². Initial linear acceleration (middle) = 7.355 m/s². Torque = 7.95 Nm.
mass = 1.8 kg, length = 0.9 m
Linear density (ρ) = Mass / Length = 1.8 kg / 0.9 m = 2 kg/m
Moment of Inertia (I)-
For a uniform rod rotating about one end: I = (1/3) × m × L²
I = (1/3) × 1.8 kg × (0.9 m)² = 0.486 kg m²
Initial Angular Acceleration (α)-
Torque (τ) = I × α
Gravity provides torque
therefore, τ = m × g × L / 2
Equate the two torques and solve for α: α = (3/2) × (g / L) = (3/2) × (9.81 m/s² / 0.9 m) ≈ 16.35 rad/s²
Initial Linear Acceleration (a) at the Middle = a = α × L / 2
= 16.35 rad/s² × 0.45 m
≈ 7.355 m/s
Magnitude of Torque (τ) = I × α = 0.486 kg m² × 16.35 rad/s² ≈ 7.95 Nm

The intensity of unpolarized light when it passes the first filter is 165 W/[tex]m^{2}[/tex] and the angle with which it falls is 24.32°.
The initial Intensity of the light is [tex]I_{0}[/tex]
The expression for the intensity of the unpolarized light after passing through the first filter is given by,
[tex]I = \frac{I_{0} }{2}[/tex]
So, the intensity of light after it passes through the first filter, we have

Which types of decay will cause the mass number a of a nucleus to change? select all that apply.
Nuclear decay is the type of decay that causes the mass number of a nucleus to change.
In the field of science, a mass number can be described as the number of neutrons as well as the number of protons in an atom.
Nuclear decay can be described as a process by which an unstable atom splits into two atoms in order to get stable. For such a process, the proton and neutron numbers in the nucleus will change. This is because the unstable element is splitting into a new stable element. Hence, we can say that nuclear decay is a process in which the mass number of an atom is subjected to change.

if the earth were twice as massive as it is now, then the gravitational force between it and the sun would be?
If the earth were twice as massive as it is now, the gravitational force between it and the sun would be twice as massive as it is now
Gravitational force of 2 objects can be determined as below:
F = G [tex]\frac{m_{1}m_{2} }{r^{2}}[/tex]
With, F = Gravitational force
G = Gravitation constant
m1 = mass object 1
m2 = mass object 2
r = distance between object
If earth mass became twice as massive as it is now, the gravitational force can be compared by using equation above :
F1/F2 = G [tex]\frac{m_{1}m_{2} }{r^{2}}[/tex] / G [tex]\frac{m_{1}m_{2} }{r^{2}}[/tex]
F1/F2 = m earth/ 2 m earth
F1/F2 = 1/2

A single infinitely long straight piece of wire carrying a current I is split and bent so that it includes two half circular loops of radius R, as shown in the Figure. If current I1 goes through the top loop and current I2 through the lower loop (with I = I1 + I2) and if I2 = 2I1 what is the magnitude of the magnetic field at the center of the circle (k = µ0/4π)?
The magnitude of the magnetic field at the center of the circle (k = µ0/4π) is [tex]k\pi I/3R[/tex]..
Given a single infinitely long straight piece of wire is carrying a current I.
It is split and bent so that it includes two half circular loops of radius R.
Current [tex]I_{1}[/tex] goes through the top loop and current [tex]I_{2}[/tex] through the lower loop (with [tex]I=I_{1} +I_{2}[/tex]) and if [tex]I_{2}[/tex] = 2[tex]I_{1}[/tex].
Now, [tex]I=I_{1} +I_{2}[/tex]
⇒[tex]I=I_{1} +2I_{1}[/tex]
⇒[tex]I=3I_{1}[/tex]
∴[tex]I_{1}=I/3\\[/tex] and [tex]I_{2}=2I/3\\[/tex]
The magnitude of the magnetic field at the center of the circle is:
[tex]B_{z} = k\pi I_{2} /R - k\pi I_{1} /R[/tex]
[tex]B_{z} = k\pi (I_{2} - I_{1}) /R[/tex]
= [tex]k\pi I/3R[/tex]

the velocity of a particle traveling along an axis is given. near what time is the instantaneous acceleration equal to 0?
The most likely time for the instantaneous acceleration to be zero is t = 2.7 sec
What is instantaneous acceleration ?Instantaneous acceleration : The acceleration at any given point in the motion is provided by the continuous time function a(t), which is written as a function of time. The derivative of the velocity function is used to calculate it. The graph of velocity versus time's slope, or instantaneous acceleration, is a measure of motion.
The slope of the tangent line to the graph at any given point on the graph corresponds to the instantaneous acceleration there. The instantaneous acceleration of the particle is equal to 0 when this line is horizontal and has a slope of 0.
According to the plot, these times correspond to the velocity function's extrema, which can be found at t = 1.75, 2.75, 3.25, and for all t = 4.
Thus the most likely time is t = 2.7

a river cruise boat sailed 48 miles down the mississippi river for three hours. it took four hours to return. find the rate of the cruise boat in still water and the rate of the current.
a ) The rate of the cruise boat in still water is 14 mi / hours
b ) The rate of the current is 2 mi / hours
s = d / t
s = Speed
d = Distance
t = Time
During downstream,
d = 48 mi
t = 3 hours
s = 48 / 3
s = 16 mi / hours
During upstream,
d = 48 mi
t = 4 hours
s = 48 / 4
s = 12 mi / hours
Speed of boat in still water,
s = 1 / 2 ( Downstream speed + Upstream speed )
s = 1 / 2 ( 16 + 12 )
s = 14 mi / hours
Speed of river,
s = 1 / 2 ( Downstream speed - Upstream speed )
s = 1 / 2 ( 16 - 12 )
s = 2 mi / hours

compare the delay growth of a ripple-carry adder versus a carry-lookahead adder. (ie. how does the delay increase as we increase the size of each adder?)
A ripple-carry adder has a linear increase in the delay as the size of the adder increases, meaning that for each additional bit, the delay increases by the same amount.
What is delay?
A delay is indeed a holding-on to or postponing. The audience might become agitated and noisy if there is a sudden delay before the play begins. You have to queue about for things to start during a delay. Another word for delay is delay: "That burnt pizza will put off dinner for the at least one other hour." Another way to put off a task is to loiter or wait: "The performer always puts off a task when he's anxious about and sang in front of a crowd." De-, which means "not," and laier, which means "leave," are the roots of the Old French word delay.
A carry-lookahead adder, on the other hand, has a logarithmic increase in the delay as the size of the adder increases, meaning that for each additional bit, the delay increases by a smaller amount.

How do enzymes bind to the active site?.
The active site by interacting with amino acids in the binding site.
The binding site of an enzyme is often called the active site because it contains amino acids that help bind substrates and convert them to products. It is clear from the name that proteins are enzymes. The part of the enzyme where the substrate binds is called the active site.
It joins nucleotides and amino acids together to make DNA and proteins, breaks down sugars and fats into energy, and breaks down toxins in the liver. Enzymes are therefore one of the most important molecules in biology. Environmental conditions can affect the active sites of enzymes and thus the rate at which chemical reactions occur. Increasing the ambient temperature generally increases the reaction rate.
