Discuss two concerns regarding funeral attendance

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

You have the option of politely declining to attend. Contact the family by phone or email to advise them of your decision. They’ll appreciate hearing from you and knowing you would be there if you could. When you call or write, share a memory of their loved one. Answer 2

Two concerns regarding funeral attendance can be that one has to ensure one's behavior is appropriate and also help the family in their grieving process.

Funerals are always a gloomy affair. But there are also certain times that such events can become a happy one if it is taken as a day to celebrate the life of the deceased.

If we are talking about funerals in the current pandemic situation, then there are several concerns about attending funerals. First is, as usual, the maintaining of social distancing and proper sanitizing. It is important to maintain social distancing even if the event was to try to comfort the grieving family. Moreover, it is also important to remember that the event is for the deceased, a celebration of his life, the memories that are left of him/her. Some other minor details but still important is also how one dresses for the funeral. Black represents grieving, and most cultures use black for their funeral dress code. So, how one dresses, with behavior and socializing, are also factors that one must keep in mind when attending funerals. But most of all, it is important to regard the feelings of the grieving family, to ensure they are alright and help them in any way to say their proper goodbyes to their beloved departed soul.

While funerals can be a painful and devastating affair for the immediate family, it is also important for those attending the event to ensure that they do their best to help the grieving family. And in that process, they will be part of the last durations of the grieving family with their loved one.

100 POINTS AND BRAINLY
THE MATCH

There never was a time when the world was without fire, but there was a time when men did not know how to kindle fire; and after they learned how to kindle one, it was a long, long time before they learned how to kindle one easily. In these days we can kindle a fire without any trouble, because we can easily get a match; but we must remember that the match is one of the most wonderful things in the world, and that it took men thousands of years to learn how to make one. Let us learn the history of this familiar little object, the match.

Fire was first given to man by nature itself. When a forest is set on fire by cinders from a neighboring volcano, or when a tree is set ablaze by a thunderbolt, we may say that nature strikes a match. In the early history of the world, nature had to kindle all the fires, for man by his own effort was unable to produce a spark. The first method, then, of getting fire for use was to light sticks of wood at a flame kindled by nature—by a volcano, perhaps, or by a stroke of lightning. These firebrands were carried to the home and used in kindling the fires there. The fire secured in this way was carefully guarded and was kept burning as long as possible. But the flame, however faithfully watched, would sometimes be extinguished. A sudden gust of wind or a sudden shower would put it out. Then a new firebrand would have to be secured, and this often meant a long journey and a deal of trouble.

In 1827, John Walker, a druggist in a small English town, tipped a splint with sulphur, chlorate of potash, and sulphid of antimony, and rubbed it on sandpaper, and it burst into flame. The druggist had discovered the first friction-chemical match, the kind we use to-day. It is called friction-chemical because it is made by mixing certain chemicals together and rubbing them. Although Walker's match did not require the bottle of acid, nevertheless it was not a good one. It could be lighted only by hard rubbing, and it sputtered and threw fire in all directions. In a few years, however, phosphorus was substituted on the tip for antimony, and the change worked wonders. The match could now be lighted with very little rubbing, and it was no longer necessary to have sandpaper upon which to rub it. It would ignite when rubbed on any dry surface, and there was no longer any sputtering. This was the phosphorus match, the match with which we are so familiar.

How does the author develop the idea that humanity's early fire-starting tools may have been dangerous? Please respond in three to five complete sentences, using evidence from the text to support your answer.

Answers

The author develops the idea that humanity’s early fire-starting tools may have been dangerous because, using a stick in lava could’ve melted the stick and not lit a fire. Which is very harmful/dangerous. As with lightning that would be very dangerous because of the fact that lightning could hit you and you would most likely get electrocuted. Chemicals weren’t a good option either considering chemicals are bad to breathe in and sandpaper would’ve taken a while to wear out to light the match.

Answer:

Well, I can't quite determine if you mean for this to be a trick question or if you are serious.

I say that because technically speaking, A and C show future tense, while B and D show past tense.

Of all the options, A is the best one to represent the present tense. While it certainly can represent the present tense, it does a much better job at representing the future tense. Yes, really. Let me give you some other examples so you'll see what I mean.....

Explanation:

Today, I'm leaving for Paris on the 4:00 p.m. flight.   =    future tense

Today, the army is sending me to boot camp.    =   future tense

.......................

I should add....

If you were to say:  "Today, I'm babysitting my nephew."  --- and you said it at the moment that you are in the house next to your nephew -- then, THAT would be present tense.

In this example, we're talking about an action that is happening at the moment of speaking unlike option A above which refers to an action that hasn't happened yet.
