Formulate a prediction explaining how a cell may be affected if it does not undergo
cellular transport. (A prediction is in the “If... , then..." format)

Answers

Answer 1

If a cell is unable to undergo cellular transport, then the cell will inevitably die.

Cellular transport can be summarized as a series of processes and methods used by cells to transport ions, smaller molecules, and macromolecules like proteins, from one side of the membrane to the other. This can be divided on a large scale into:

Active transportPassive transport

based on whether or not the cell in question needs to invest energy for the transport to happen. Each of these then have many subdivisions to account for the numerous kinds of transports a cell is able to undergo.

Most of the cellular transports that happen in the human body are essential for the life of that cell. The most common and essential cellular transport is the passive transport of water and oxygen through osmosis and diffusion. Water provides the cell with the ability to maintain basic structure and carry out necessary functions. Oxygen is required by all cells to break down sugars in order to obtain energy in the form of ATP. This is done through a process known as cellular respiration. The waste produced by this is carbon dioxide, which in the absence of cellular transport would not be able to leave the cell.

If a cell is unable to undergo cellular transport, then the cell will inevitably die due to it being unable to transport water, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and numerous other ions and molecules that are necessary for the cell to complete even the most basic of functions.

how are enzymes, proteins, and amino acids related, and what is their role in a viral take over?

Answers

Answer:

Amino acids are building blocks to proteins, and the combination and order of them determines what protein is actually being built. Then enzymes are a type of protein which facilitates or catalyses a process, such as the breaking down of molecules in your food. In a viral takeover, the virus uses your body's ribosomes to create viral proteins (consisting of amino acids). Viral enzymes actualy facilitate this by inserting viral DNA into the hostcell's DNA.

describe the role of the liver in the assimilation of amino acids by converting them to proteins.

Answers

Explanation:

The liver is important in assimilation. For example, it converts glucose into glycogen (a complex carbohydrate used for storage) and amino acids into proteins. ... This is the removal of the nitrogen-containing part of amino acids, to form urea, followed by the release of energy from the remainder of the amino acid.

The deamination process involves the liver. This involves the release of energy from the remaining amino acid after the nitrogen-containing portion of the amino acid is removed to generate urea.

What is assimilation of amino acids in liver?

Assimilation is the transport of molecules from digested food into the body's cells, where they are utilized and eventually become a part of the cells.

Extra glucose in the blood that reaches the liver is either broken down through respiration to produce energy for other uses or turned into glycogen (animal starch) for storage.

The complex proteins and carbs are broken down into glucose and amino acids during absorption. As a result, glucose is used in respiration while amino acids are obtained for the creation of new proteins.

Therefore, the role of the liver in the assimilation of amino acids by converting them to proteins.
