I want to study English. Help me improve my vocabulary
Read the passage.
Would you rather eat a whole food or a processed food? Which kind of food is healthier for you? Whole foods include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy, eggs, meat, and fish. Whole foods are products of nature. They come to consumers in their natural state such as an apple or a banana. Processed foods are the product of a manufacturing plant. They come to consumers in different shapes and flavors such as sweetened applesauce in a squeeze pouch. Cereals, white bread, sandwich meat, cookies, frozen meals, as well as chips and crackers are all processed foods.
Whole foods are healthier than processed foods. When foods are processed, they lose many of their nutrients and health benefits. Whole foods are unchanged. Nothing is added or taken away to change the whole food's nutrients. Processed foods have been changed using chemicals. They are made from processed ingredients and artificial substances. Food loses many nutrients during processing, so chemically formed nutrients are added. These foods are often high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats and low in nutritional value.
Processed foods can have serious effects on our health. They can cause diabetes and heart disease. They are even cited as a cause of obesity. Eating more processed foods means getting less real vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and nutrients. We need these elements, which are found in whole foods, to be healthy. Diets high in fiber promote healthy digestion. While diets high in antioxidants can help prevent cancer, diets high in vitamins and minerals can help our minds and bodies stay healthy and strong.
Choose whole foods to choose health. If it comes in a bag or a box, it is probably processed, which means it is lacking the important nutrients that our bodies need.
Which detail is too minor to be included in a summary of this article?
A. Processed foods have serious effects on our health.
B. Food loses many nutrients during processing.
C. Diets high in fiber promote healthy digestion.
D. They can cause diabetes and heart disease.

"If only, if only," the woodpecker sighs,
"The bark on the tree was just a little bit softer.
"While the wolf waits below, hungry and lonely,
He cries to the moo--oo--oon,"
If only, if only."

what evidence in Music for My Mother supports the statement that shows that moving to a new country is hard ?
Answer:
After dinner my older brother liked to play the guitar. He preferred
the music he heard on the radio, but he played the traditional
songs for Mama. She enjoyed things that reminded her of home.
Her eyes hurt and her fingers would get sore from long hours of
work as a seamstress. I remember washing dishes while Pedrito sang:
“And seeing myself so lonely and sad like a leaf in the wind, I want
to cry . . . from this feeling.”
He sang in Spanish, which is how the lyrics were written. That
song is more than 100 years old now. Mama learned it when she was
a girl.
Papa tried to nudge Mama out of her nostalgia sometimes. He
would answer her in English when she spoke to him in Spanish. His
English was not very good at first, but he worked at it until it got
better.
Mama usually answered him in Spanish. They would go back
and forth in either language, talking about work or homesickness
or family. Pedrito or I would occasionally correct them or help them
finish their sentences in English. Papa would thank us. Mama would
just smile and shake her head. But she always repeated the words we
had helped her with. In time her English got better too, but she was
far more at ease in her native tongue.
I was seven years old when we came to the United States. Pedrito
was 11. Papa was a carpenter who also knew a little about plumbing
and electricity. From an early age, my brother and I learned how to
take care of ourselves in our new home. Our parents worked long
hours, and they counted on us to be independent.
At first we were almost like guides for Mama and Papa. In big
busy places, like the mall or the registry of motor vehicles, they felt
uncomfortable, if not overwhelmed. It was easier for us to adjust
to environments that were fast-paced and not always friendly. I felt
protective of my parents and also proud of how quickly I learned my
way around.
It would hurt my feelings to see the way some people looked at us.
For a while, on Sundays and holidays we would wear our best clothes
from home. Before long, we learned to wear casual clothes almost all
the time, like most people in this country do. And after a while, our
parents became more at ease in stores or government offices. They
relaxed a little, I suppose, and we attracted less attention.
Mama and Papa live with Pedrito now, in a two-family home
outside of Houston. Pedrito is now known as Peter. He runs a
construction business that employs 14 men and women.
Papa is in his seventies now. Pedrito would like for him to
slow down a little and enjoy retirement, but Papa says that Mama
wouldn’t want him sitting around the house getting in her way.
He rises at dawn almost every day and goes to work with Pedrito,
building houses.
I am a teacher. This summer I will be taking my son, Michael, to
visit his grandparents. He is twelve. He wants to learn to play the
guitar. I want Mama and his Uncle Peter to teach him a few of the
good old songs.

What is the difference between Context and Content
Answer:
Content is the material/matter/medium contained within the work that's available for audience. Context is the positioning of the content, storyline or purpose that provides value to the audience.
Explanation:
Answer:
Explanation:
Main Difference – Context vs Content
Though context and content sound more or less similar, there is a distinct difference between these two words. These two words can be very confusing when they are used in a text or an exercise. For example, the phrases the content of the text and the context of the text can be bewildering for many English learners. The main difference between context and content is that content refers to the topics or matter treated in a work, particularly a written work whereas context refers to the components of a text that surround a word or passage and help the reader to understand its meaning.
Context – Meaning and Usage
Context can refer to a circumstance that shape the setting for an event, idea or statement and in terms of which it can be fully understood. For example, the term historical context refers to the period time in which something took place or was created. If we are looking at a past custom or practice, we cannot understand it properly without looking at the historical context.
When we are talking about a text, context can also refer to the parts of the text that precede and follow a word or passage and clarify its meaning. Thus, it is clear that understanding the context of a text is essential to understand the entire meaning.
Context is also a notion studied in linguistics and other language sciences. Here, it is categorized into two: verbal context and social context. Verbal context refers to the text or speech surrounding a word, phrase or a sentence. Social context refers to the social identity being construed and displayed in text and talk by language users.
From the poem "Silver" by Walter De La Mare, explain the following line in about 50+ words :
“Slowly, silently, now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon; ”
Note :
Walter De La Mare is a poet and novelist known for depths of the meaning of his poems which are beyond what the words actually say. So, explain the real meaning.
Answer: Personification.
Explanation: In this stance we instantly see she is using personification to describe the moons actions. “Slowly”, “Silently” as the words she chooses to describe her movement through the sky. It’s also important to note that Walter De La Mare refers to the moon as a “she” implying that she has her own thoughts, her own feelings and at this moment her slow progression through the sky was her owning choosing.
This is a classic example of personification.
