Pls Help I Need Help Due In 30 Mins!!!! Find Solution (intersection)

Answer 1

Sorry, I don't remember how to solve this algebraically but you can use your graphing calculator for this!

First step is to click on the [tex]y=[/tex] button and it's gonna take you to this window.

You then have to input both formulas and once you're done, click [tex]graph[/tex] and it will graph it for you. I would recommend clicking the [tex]window[/tex] button beforehand and changing the Xmin/Ymin and Xmax/Ymax to -100 and 100 respectively.

Once you do that, click [tex]2nd[/tex] and then click the [tex]trace[/tex] button and then click [tex]intersect[/tex]. Click [tex]enter[/tex] 3 times and then it will show you the coordinates of where they intersect.

I got (x = -9) and (y = 53)

We want to see which could be the possible score of Kath for the given information. We will find the inequality:

K ≤ 33

Stating what we know:

The given information is:

The sum of the scores is not greater than 55 pointsElla's score is 22 points.

Writing the inequality:

First, we need to define the variable K for Kath's points, because of the given information, we can write the inequality:

K + 22 ≤ 55

This means that the sum of the points is smaller than or equal to 55.

Now we just need to solve this for K, to do this, we subtract 22 in both sides:

K ≤ 55 - 22

K ≤ 33

From this, we can conclude that Kath has at most 33 points.

The data to represent average test scores for a class of 24 students includes an outlier value of 89. If the mean, including the outlier of 89, equals 77, which statement is always true about the new data when the outlier is removed?

The mean would increase.

The mean would decrease.

The median would increase.

The median would decrease.

Answers

Answer:

B. The mean would decrease.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Number of students is 24The mean is  77The outlier is 89

The sum of 24 scores:

77*24 = 1848

If we remove the outlier, then the sum becomes:

1848 - 89 = 1759

And we have 23 scores, find the mean:

1759 / 23 = 76.48 (rounded)

Since 76.48 < 77, the mean has decreased.

We can't see the median hence we can't state it will increase or decrease.

Correct choice is B

One booster pack is worth 9 cards and one premade deck is worth 37 cards.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that:

9x + 7y = 340 cards4x + y = 73 cardsy = Cost of premade decks (In cards)x = Cost of booster packs (In cards)

Work:

9x + 7y = 340 cards

        4x + y = 73 cards

4(9x + 7y = 340 cards)

        9(4x + y = 73 cards)

36x + 28y = 340 x 4 cards

        36x + 9y = 73 x 9 cards

19y = 1360 - 65719y = 703y = 703/19 = 37

This means that 1 premade deck is worth 37 cards. Now, let's substitute the value of y into the first equation to find x.

9x + 7y = 340 cards=> 9x + 7(37) = 340 cards=> 9x + 259 = 340 cards=> 9x = 81 cards=> x = 9 cards

Hence, one booster pack is worth 9 cards and one premade deck is worth 37 cards.
