Read the paragraph that begins the "Veterans Stats" section of the article. This paragraph describes
veterans as "the brave men and women who serve and protect the U.S." According to the paragraph,
who are these brave men and women? Include at least three pieces of information in your answer.
**please help me only if you know this is graded thank u :))**
Answer:
According to the paragraph, the United States is home to millions of brave men and women who have served or who have continued to serve America in both wartime and peacetime. They are not only military men and women, there are also millions of civilians of all classes, who risked their lives in the service of their fatherland, especially during conflicts and national disasters.
Explanation:
The Veterans Day Facts give some important information about the activities and statistics of veterans in the United States of America. The facts show that veterans' day must not be confused with memorial day. While the veterans’ day is a day set aside to honor all those who have made sacrifices for the survival of America, the memorial day is a Monday day in May when those who have lost their lives are remembered. This shows that the veterans' day is more inclusive than the memorial day.
According to the text, we can say that veterans are men and women, alive or dead, who served the country in times of war or peace.
We can reach this answer because:
The text states that there are two different holidays to pay tribute to all American veterans.Memorial Day is the holiday where people pay due respect to veterans (men and women) who have died on the battlefield from injuries sustained while serving the country at a time of war.Veterans Day, on the other hand, is a day created to celebrate the courage of all citizens, living or dead, men and women, who will serve the country in times of peace as well as in times of war. Thus, we can conclude that veterans are the people who served the country in times of need.

Explain three strategies you can use to take better notes
Disclaimer: Before I answer this, please note that this is based on my own experience as to how I take notes. People all have different strategies as to how they take notes, and this is mine. You can choose to follow it if you want to.
Okay, now let's get on to it.
1. Only take down the important concepts. Don't try to get hold of every little thing, since those are unnecessary. Only take notes of the portions you think are necessary to study, or else you'll miss out on the next important portion, which you'll regret after.
2. Be organized. If you take down the notes needed and later come back to review them if the notes are messy and all over the place, you won't be able to read them properly. It is completely fine to messily take notes when the teacher is moving quickly, but make sure you still make them readable.
3. Be an active listener. It is told that our minds can process thoughts faster than they can be spoken. Even though you might not understand the concept at first, listening to the explanations and the examples that the teacher might give to you would immeasurably increase your understanding and remembering the content.
These are my three strategies as to how I take effective notes.
I hope this helped you!

Answer:
RESEARCH, ANNOTATIONS, AND STUDY
Explanation:
Research: When you are given a text to read or an article, the first thing I recommend is for you to do research before learning the topic of the text, what is it about? what is the author trying to tell you? these are 2 essential questions to look into. The reason why it's best to do your research after you read the title & view the table of content is to get a better understanding. Before you begin to get acquainted with the text, look out for annotations and examine the text.
Annotation: You will be asked to take notes at the end of your read, before you do, you need to familiarize yourself with words you don't know like I said before- but, you need to annotate unfamiliar terms and look for the year when the article/text was published. Annotation requires numbers mentioned in the paragraph; look out for statistics too. After you finish annotating, you are to summarize your answer and connect the dots and build a structure of how you got your answer/well notes - after you take notes when being asked to prove your answer.
Study: You should study the first, mid and last paragraph of the text, It's a method I use to skim through the text; study the lines in the paragraph & get look for the settings; where it took place or the statistics report: the numbers representing the situation. I hope this helped you & I am thrilled to share with you my 3 strategies for taking better notes.

The answer Is A.
Explanation:
(They should create original poetry that celebrates the diversity of the nation.)
I just had a test on it and I got it right.
Walt Whitman believes American writers should accomplish their work by creating original poetry that celebrates the diversity of the nation. Thus, option 'A' is the correct option.
Who was Walt Whitman?American poet, writer, and journalist Walter Whitman Jr. was a humanist who participated in the shift from transcendentalism to realism by mixing both ideologies into his writing. Whitman, who is sometimes referred to as the founder of free poetry, is one of the most important poets in American literature. Whitman was a religious sceptic; he welcomed all churches but held no particular faith.
According to Whitman, God is both immanent and transcendent, and the human soul is eternal and evolving. After seeing his injured brother George during the Battle of Fredericksburg, Whitman volunteered to work as an army nurse. By conversing with them, creating letters for them, and attending to their wounds, he consoled troops in the hospitals.

In the selection from Candide, what topic do Candide and Martin debate
during their travels together?
Answer:
Candide still has a little money and a few jewels, and hopes to use what he has to recover Cunégonde. His love and remaining fortune momentarily renew his faith in Pangloss’s philosophy. Martin the scholar, on the other hand, maintains that God has abandoned the world because men kill and maim one another everywhere
In the selection from Candide by Voltaire (1759), the topic that Candide and Martin debate during their travels is evil. Moral and physical evil is at the center of their discussion throughout their journey.
They recognize that optimistic thinking is inadequate to explain the strategy for survival in this world. The world, as it is, "is not in its best possible state," they mused.
While the world may be created to achieve perfect balance and order, man has disordered and disoriented the world to the extent that God has abandoned it to suffer in depravity, according to Voltaire.
For Martin, the world remains inherently evil, with only fleeting goodness and no place for happiness. Candide agrees with Martin, exposing that he has even seen much worst.
Thus, in Voltaire's Candide, Martin and Candide discuss evil in the world and what man has done to exacerbate it.

The Taliban came into power in 2005 in Pakistan and began dictating the civilians how to live their lives the “right Islamic way”. The people of the Swat District were forced to obey every command of the Taliban unless they and their families wanted to be killed. Women especially became very oppressed and had to enter Purdah, wear hijabs whenever in public, and were encouraged to not go to school. All westernized media, clothes and games were banned, anyone who did not follow the law would be shot. The community lived in such a terrible state of fear that Malala and her family were afraid to go outside where they were known as famous social, political and educational activists. A BBC correspondent contacted Ziauddin to make a blog from a school girl’s point of view on living under Taliban rule. Malala soon took up the challenge and related.
