We were dropped off at the domestic port by the school bus. We formed a line and entered the airport, taking care not to obstruct travelers. The atmosphere was fantastic. The lounge was well-lit and well-decorated. At various points, large screens displaying flight arrival and departure times greeted us.
It was a hectic time of day. There were many individuals with luggage, some standing in line at ticket offices, and some moving to different numbered gates. There were also numerous children. We heard voices at regular intervals announcing the arrival, departure, or delay of planes, and at times directing passengers to a certain gate for security checks.
There were airline counters with well-dressed men and women addressing travelers' questions, weighing their luggage, and giving boarding permits. The airport gift stores were well-stocked with books, toys, chocolates, and trinkets. We discovered a florist with a great variety of flowers, a saree shop offering traditional bangles and sarees, and a variety of snack counters.
By the time we got back from the above excursion, it was clear that we had had a very busy day. Airports are indeed very busy places to visit or even go through.
